The University of Aizu Innovation and Start-up Education Program Launched.

On July 1st, 2020, the Innovation and Start-up Program newly launched.

This program supports undergraduate students in the UoA to build up awareness for start-up business and get knowledge and experience in order to "foster world-class innovative and entrepreneurial talent" in the Top Global University Project.

Overview

This program supports students who are aiming to apply their skills that they are learning now to the future in the form of start-up business or side business.

Requirements for the program completion

・Earn a total of 8 or more credits in DESIGNATED COURSES

・Receive a certificate of completion of at least one of the DESIGNATED TRAINING program

・Participate in the extracurricular activities and receive the challenger badge (1 gold, silver, bronze or 5 coins)

By meeting the above 3 requirements, students will receive the completion certificate of the program as having acquired knowledge and experience for start-up business.

Support

Students who want accreditation of the program need to submit the registration form (Form1) in advance. (Form 1 is HERE)


Participants will receive the following support:

・Receive the event information for extracurricular activities such as hackathon, ideathon etc.

・Have opportunities to participate in round-table discussion with members of a local venture company or a manager of a business

・Receive consultation and advice on how to brush up on your business ideas

Collaboration with the University-Business Innovation Center (UBIC) and the Regional Venture Creation and Support Foundation

The Innovation and Start-up Education Program is supported by the Local Venture Creation and Support Foundation.
The Program has been working with the University-Business Innovation Center (UBIC) and the Regional Venture Creation and Support Foundation and established comprehensive support system including this program for students who are aiming to start-up business.

UBIC supports students for participating in the external contests, brushing up their business ideas and funding to prepare start-up business.

The Regional Venture Creation and Support Foundation supports start-up companies to conduct stably business activities such as providing consultation on establishing company, making business plan, and business management.

Students who are interested in start-up business, regardless of whether or not they participated in / completed the program, will be able to receive support from UBIC and the Regional Venture Creation and Support Foundation.
