The Global Lounge at the University of Aizu was established in 2015 as part of the Top Global University project, and has been offering various activities to students who are interested in English and intercultural communication. We offer weekly international lunch meetings and special events such as a Halloween Party where international students and Japanese students can get together and enjoy conversation. This is a place where students can meet new friends and improve their English skills through fun activities. The lounge is also equipped with various enjoyable learning materials such as manga comics, MReader books, board games, and DVDs.

Many of our CLR professors are current directors or past-presidents of the Support Association for International Students of the University of Aizu (SAISUA). Learn more about SAISUA here.

The ACM Chapter on Elearning and Communication was started by Prof. Debo Roy in 2010, and it is one of the only four ACM chapters in Japan, and the only one on technical communication.
