Mr. Staples Russel James(Exchange student at the University of Aizu from April to June 2022)

Hello, my name is Russel Staples and I'm a student from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the United States.

I had a fantastic time studying abroad at the University of Aizu and learned a lot about life in Japan.

I met a lot of interesting people, made many friends, and improved my Japanese language skills greatly through conversation.

The experience of living abroad and immersing myself in a different culture has broadened my horizons and allowed me to learn firsthand about the people and culture of Japan.

Everything felt unfamiliar at first and it was challenging at times, but I feel more independent and confident in myself after overcoming these challenges.

Now I have a much deeper knowledge of living in Japan and a greater appreciation of Japan and Japanese culture.

The three months I spent in Aizu were invaluable to me and I definitely want to come back someday.
