What are the life and environment in Aizuwakamatsu like?

  • Aizuwakamatsu developed around the castle of the chief of the Aizu Clan during the Edo Period (1603-1868). There are many historical buildings and sites inside the city.
  • The Aizu region is rich in beautiful natural sceneries such as Mt. Bandai (one of the hundred most famous mountains in Japan), Lake Inawashiro (the fourth-largest lake in Japan), and Oze National Park.
  • Aizuwakamatsu is a good place to live with kind local citizens, healthy food, and a safe environment. Located about 100 kilometers west of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, the Aizu region was not much affected by the accident caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

What special courses are offered to the students in the Advanced ICT Global Program?

  • Japanese language courses and Japanese culture courses are well-designed and provided at the beginner level, the intermediate level, and the business level. Business Japanese will be very useful for job hunting and working in Japan after graduation from the University of Aizu.
  • Since the Aizu region is one of the most historically renowned areas and has cultural and educational reputations, the Aizu study course is designed and provided to help you understand Japanese culture deeply.
  • Besides fundamental courses of computer science and engineering, elective courses including IoT, big data, and bridge courses to the graduate school are available.
  • Courses for innovation and creation are provided.
  • Internships to Silicon Valley in America is encouraged

Eligibility Those who have completed 12-year school education equivalent to that from elementary school to high school in Japan.

Tuition and other fees

Tuition: 520,000 JPY (around 4,000 USD) per year. Payment in two installments of 260,400 JPY each by the end of April and by the end of October.
