Abstract:
nnovation is the economic fuel of the 21st century. No matter what industry or area of focus, businesses, governments and universities must manage innovation effectively to remain competitive now and in the future. The seminar will describe the methods and processes to go from ideas to inventions to innovations that SRI International has developed and used to create such breakthroughs as the computer mouse, Siri, robotic surgery and a malaria vaccine. The program will also briefly present examples of recent Japanese teams who have successfully moved their inventions out of the lab and into the commercial world.
*Biography of the lecturer
Mr. Claude Leglise Is the Executive Director of the Center for Innovation Leadership at SRI International.
He has lectured and taught innovation management at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Tokyo University, University Technology Malaysia, ParisTech, Lappenrenta University of Technology (Finland), as well as many private companies.

He is also the Chairman and co--‐founder of Clear Spot Energy,Inc.,a solar Electricity services company serving large--‐scale commercial user of power.

Mr. Leglise combines extensive global venture investing experience with a long track record in technology marketing and general management.

At Intel, Leglise spent 12 years in general management positions, first leading the design and marketing of the world's first million--‐transistor microprocessor.

He started the company's collaboration with the software industry and managed the growth of the Developer Relations Group from 2 to over 300 software engineers.
