On Wednesday, April 14, 2021, Prof. OHTAKE Makiko(※1) of the University of Aizu attended the commendation ceremony of the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Division of Science and Technology Promotion) for fiscal year 2021(※2).

<Prof. Ohtake comments>
When I attended the award ceremony this time and heard about the achievements of the other researchers who also received awards, I felt sobered by the fact that I received an award along with their research.
At the same time, I felt that this award was an encouragement to me to continue to devote myself to my research and to nurture my younger colleagues.
I have been involved in the analysis and research of lunar exploration data from the KAGUYA and other lunar orbiters, but there are still many research themes to be explored.
I myself would like to continue my scientific treasure hunt and also challenge new research with the researchers of the University of Aizu.
And we will continue our activities to make more younger researchers interested in lunar and planetary exploration data.
