On Monday, December 7, 2015, the UoA Professor Takafumi Hayashi (*1) was awarded a letter of appreciation by the Chief of the Prefectural Police Headquarters at the Fukushima Prefectural Police Headquarters.

This letter of appreciation is given in recognition of his more than ten years' cooperation with the Fukushima Prefectural Police as a cyber crime adviser since 2003. Professor Hayashi has contributed to improve anti-cybercrime capacity building and cybercrime prevention measures in the Fukushima Prefectural Police. He received this letter of appreciation along with Professor Yasuhiro Sugiyama, from the College of Engineering, Nihon University.

The Fukushima Prefectural Police and the UoA signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding cyber security on Friday, November 27, 2015 (*2). The UoA will continue to promote cooperation and collaboration with the Fukushima Prefectural Police in order to build a safe and secure cyberspace.
