Sadae-do
Such a rare building
Sazae-do (nickname) had been constructed Kansei 7 years (1795) for
Ikudo (Buddhist-priest) wishes at Jitsusho-shi, Babahonmachi finised the
next year 8.
This building has a plane hexagon tower (pagoda), height has 16.45
meters. Entrance of the center and go up helical slope to seen 33
figures Kannon (goddees of Mercy) cross over the bridge at the top and
again seeing down slope the Kannon, you go out the back of the building.
The building constrated rationally, one way and doesn't be crowded. Also,
each 33 figures Kannon's front provided the mouth/entrance for offering
of money or rice, those are conected by conduit and gether these at the
top of the foundation stone and money and oghter stuff collect through
conduit concentratory. It was such a wonderful idea and splended
building. The modern period, Sansou-do have been made at many places as
nationwide. However the Sazae-do has uniqueness such as, one way pass,
distribution of buddhist images, the way of colleting money. Begining of
Meiji, the temple of Sazae-do has been closed it repair at Meiji 23,
after they repairr many times.
Beside 33 Buddhist image, they added "Oucho-24 kau". Sazae-do had many
changed buyt the only one quinc building as Japanese archtichture.
