Overseas Study Program

The University of Aizu provides overseas study programs for students to study and conduct research overseas for the purpose of fostering excellent human resources capable of great regional contributions with global perspectives and to improve the University's international competitiveness. The University is now inviting applications for participation in short-term/mid-term overseas study programs, as described below. Interested students are encouraged to apply.

Short-term Overseas Study Programs for AY 2017

Qualifications

1st to 3rd-year undergraduate students who have excellent academic and research achievements.For further information, please see attached Applycation Guide in "How to Apply".

Expenses Eligible for Support by the University and JASSO

1. Travel expenses

2. Overseas travel Insurance fee 

3.ESTA application fee

4. Tuition and accommodation fee will be exempted.

These fee will be covered including JASSO scholarship. If you are not eligible for JASSO scholarship, you have to pay JPY80,000 instead.

1. A part of travel expenses

2. JASSO scholarship JPY 70,000

Individual payments (Tuition, Home stay fee included 3 meal per a day etc) will be occurred around JPY 300,000~400,000.

Approximately 7 weeks - 3 months (possibly to extension 1 year)

Expenses Eligible for Support by the University

1. Travel and accommodation expenses for round trip

- form Aizu to Narita Airport

- from Narita Airport to destination

2. Overseas travel insurance (For 3 months)

3. Visa application expenses (Support a part of the expenses)

4. Accommodation expenses (For 3 months)

  JASSO scholarship will be available for 1 year.

* The expenses described above will be supported with in the budget limitations

Qualifications

Students who are formally enrolled in the University of Aizu's Undergraduate School, Master's, or Doctoral programs as of AY 2017.

Application eligibility for fourth-year undergraduate students is limited to those who plan to enroll in the University of Aizu's Graduate School. For second-year students of the Master's Program, application eligibility is limited to those who plan to enroll in the University of Aizu's Doctoral Program. Third-year students of the Doctoral Program and over, are not eligible for application to the program.

Note

・Students can be supported for Mid-term overseas study program provided by The Office for Strategy of International Programs only ONCE during their enrollment including both undergraduate and graduate school at the University of Aizu.

・Students who participate in the Short-term Overseas Study Program are eligible to apply this mid-term programs in order to enhance opportunities for education and world standard research.

・Students who are not accepted for the financial support may participate in this program at their own expense.

Submit it to the The Office for Strategy of International Programs (OSIP) with a sealed recommendation from your academic supervisor.
