The goal of this project is to develop a pronunciation textbook and corresponding exercise book to assist the University of Aizu freshmen. Approximately 40,000 computer isolated words and 40,000 short sentences were collected from about 30 computer science textbooks and categorized according to the different sounds in English, including both consonants and vowels. We made 7 videos of 2,000 words and 2,000 sentences recorded by a professional American radio announcer Approximately 1,000 words and 1,000 sentences will be installed in the LML (Language Media Laboratory) in 1996.
