Study of Machine Processing of Signs Generated by Hand Movements

Susantha Herath,
Associate Professor, Human Interface Laboratory

A sign processing interface is a human friendly system that understands signs to generate tasks, to develop plans, and to compile and execute the task automatically. It is essential to develop the basic technology necessary for the implementation of human interfaces which have the capability to process signs. We have been developing a Sign language dictionary and a Sign language learning system as a step towards developing a better interface.
