The structure and design of a multi-media Japanese-English dictionary was outlined this year. A prototype interface to the dictionary was designed. Also a new method of looking up kanji based on any constituent, rather than just the radical, was developed and tested (using logic programming) on a small kanji database. Work continues on the design of the database and a more extensive prototype of the dictionary will be designed and tested next year.
