We have developed an experiment system for image recognition and processing called IRAPES (Image Recognition and Processing Experiment System) cooperating with Ricoh Software Engineering. This is so flexible that we can expand the system, easily adding other application programs including their GUIs. The system includes image compression applications and can be used for multimedia system courses also.
