Working with People in International Cooperation and Development-a Case Study of Japanese Non Government Organisations in Bangladesh.

A.K.M.Hedayetul Huq,
Professor, Center for Cultural Research and Studies

The project analyses the work of 16 Japanese Voluntary agencies in helping 100,000 poor and disadvantaged people in Bangladesh through self-help in Agricultural improvement, Literacy, Health care and Income generation activities. With limited resources, these organisations have done better work in comparison with others and the demand for more services is ever increasing. These agencies are not interested to extend further but consolidate services.
