English Composition Courseware Development

The project team identified language/writing trouble-spots for treatment in the curriculum; conducted surveys, interviews, and case studies of computer faculty and technical writers to identify successful writing practices in computer science; developed software for an analysis of lexical frequency in academic and computer science discourse; studied student dictionary use/misuse; improved pre/post instruction testing methods to better monitor student progress; wrote instruction material; and disseminated research results through conferences and publications.
