Speech Processing and Speech Recognition

Masahide Sugiyama,
Professor, Human Interface Laboratory

The project produced a textbook, entitled Speech Recognition --- Advanced Technology--, the sequel to Speech Processing and Speech Recognition. This series describes the current technology and research topics of speech recognition including HMM (Hidden Markov Models) and NN (Neural Network Models). These books will be used for teaching graduate, undergraduate and also SCCP students. We printed 50 copies using special educational budget supported by the Student Affair Section. The project also made a simple software tool to display speech wave and LPC spectra. Using this tool students can study the basic handling of speech data.
