An extensive and in-depth evaluation of CAD software to be used in the logic design, microelectronics, computer architecture, and VLSI classes was carried out. CAD software from Mentor Graphics, Cadence, Seiko, Viewlogic, and Synopsis were evaluated. An evaluation of plotters for drawing VLSI mask layers was carried out. The VLSI II course outline and some laboratory exercises were prepared.
