Aizu Supercomputer

Tuneo Ikedo,
Professor, Computer Architecture Laboratory

The Aizu Supercomputer project is related to a massively parallel system suited to the solution of virtual reality problems and support of multi-media applications. It employs a highly parallel MIMD architecture using a conflict- free communication system. This system is comprised by two network: a pyramid and reconfigurable network on the basis of electroric and optical multi-links. The system software for the virtual reality domain is based on a visual language system for the interactive specification of application algorithms.
