Fostering of Computer Scientists
One of the University's most distinctive features lies in the fact that it is the first university in Japan to specialize solely in computer education and research. A multimedia computer network has been realized on campus as an environment in which each student is provided with their own workstations to engage in a broad spectrum of education spanning introductory education through applied education has been established. A systematic curriculum that begins with computer literacy enables students about to flexibly create cutting-edge software and hardware. Computer scientists abounding in the ability to create, apply and put things into practice will be fostered through acqusition of a firm understanding of a foundation in basic skills.
The University of Aizu has adapted a UNIX-based system for its basic computer environment to ensure visibility of information concerning internal operations and high overall performance, including network flow, and to realize a stable education and learning environment.
