The Center for Cultural Research and Studies (CCRS) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of a senior associate professor or an associate professor.

The University of Aizu has a Teacher Certification Program in which students can obtain specialized certificates for teaching in junior high school (Mathematics), in high school (Mathematics) and in high school (Information). About 20 students per year obtain specialized certificates and a few of them find teaching positions in Fukushima and neighboring prefectures. There are two full-time faculty members for the teacher-training course. Successful applicant will belong to the Center for Cultural Research and Studies (CCRS).

    One Associate Professor or Senior Associate Professor

    Three-year tenure-track appointment followed by evaluation and tenure until the mandatory retirement age of 65 if qualified.

    1) Courses Concerning the Teaching Profession
    a. Education Psychology and one of the following classes that you can teach
     Education Methods, Student Guidance and Counseling, Course Counseling
    b. Classes which several faculty members have charge
     Pre and Post Guidance for Teaching Practice, Practice for Teaching Profession, Practical Application in Education.

    2) General Education Courses
    Psychology, Academic skill 1, 2

  5. Qualification requirements

    1) A Ph.D. or equivalent in Psychology or Education.

    2) Teaching experience of teacher-training course classes, especially teacher training course classes, is preferable, but not necessarily required for those who are under 30 years old.

  6. Submission Package

    1) CV(photograph attached, date of birth, current address, phone number, E-mail, academic background, professional career, teaching career, academic societies you belong, date of doctor's degree and the title of dissertation, should be included)

    2) Research achievement list (Please list books, refereed papers or equivalent results, and other reference papers separately in chronological order), and summary of each work

    3) Summary of your whole research

    4) Copies of your best published papers (three papers)

    5) Two letters of recommendation
    And one other referee with his/her name, affiliation and contact addresses (phone number and E-mail)

    6) Brief syllabi of your possible courses to teach

    Prepare English versions on the occasion of the secondary selection (job interview and presentation)
