On Friday, September 15, 2017, the Degree Conferment Ceremony of Fall AY2017 was held. 34 individuals, including 21 from the Computer Science and Engineering Master's Program, 3 from the Doctoral Program, and 10 from the Undergraduate School of Computer Science and Engineering received degrees.

At the conferment ceremony, University President Ryuichi Oka used his address to encourage the newly-minted graduates, stating "IT and the business related to it are changing rapidly, and it is the speed of this change that brings vitality to the IT industry. It is my sincere hope that the knowledge you gained here will serve as a foothold as you step up your unyielding efforts towards achieving your illustrious goals while looking back at the history of each technology and fully understanding what about it is new."

The commendation of student started from this fall degree conferment ceremony. Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huyen, who completed the master's program, was awarded the President's Award and a supplementary prize.

Doctor Trinh Viet Phuc, representing those who completed the respective programs expressed his gratitude and future plans in his address, stating "It is always tough to say farewell to our beloved teachers, friends, and this fantastic learning environment. Although we might be separated by time and distance, nothing will diminish the memories that we have shared in our time here. Now, it is time to take the next steps of the journeys in our lives and let's shine as pioneers with curiosity, dream and a challenging-spirit. The future is in our hands."
