The Japanese national team, along with UoA student Yuki ITO, won the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) 2015 Under-23 World Ultimate Championships Women's Division.  [2015.08.26]

Yuki Ito, a member of the winning team of the WFDF 2015 Under-23 World Ultimate Championships, paid a courtesy call to Governor Uchibori.

On Monday August 17, 2015, Yuki Ito and Souto Honda from the UoA Flying Disc Club, as well as Vice President Shigaku Tei (*1) paid a courtesy call to Masao Uchibori, Fukushima Governor.

Ito played as a member of the Japanese national team that won the WFDF 2015 Under-23 World Ultimate Championships (*2) Women's Division, held in London, England from July 12 to 18. She reported the results of the competition.

During the informal talk with the governor, Ito commented on her experience in the world competition: "Our national team played very well against teams from other countries, including the U.S. Most of them had better builds than us, but we made good use of our distinctive speed and precision."

Governor Uchibori encouraged Ito, Honda and Vice President Tei, stating; "I greatly expect UoA students to increasingly play active roles in both athletics and academics."

Ito-san, good luck at the WFDF 2015 World U-23 Ultimate Championships! [2015.07.09]

UoA 4th-year undergraduate Yuki Ito will participate in the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) 2015 Under-23 World Ultimate Championships Women's Division as a member of the national team. The competition is scheduled to be held in London, England from July 12 to 18. Ito is the first female player from the Tohoku League in her generation selected as a national team member.

UoA President Oka, Ito's teammates from the University of Aizu Flying Disc Club DualBoot and club adviser Professor Cohen gathered to send Ito off on Thursday, July 9. President Oka provided words of encouragement, saying "Please do your best as a representative of Japan, and leverage your experience at the world championships in your future development."

Regarding her goals, Ito commented that "the Japanese national team took second place last year. I hope I will be able to show what I've learned at training camp and bring the gold medal back to Japan in order to repay my teammates who have supported me." Team captain Souto Honda (2nd-year undergraduate) commented "We will do our best to get a victory at the Ultimate Tohoku League Kitakami Competition (*3). I also want Ito-san to do her best to reach the gold medal," vowing that they would all fight hard as a team. The Ultimate Tohoku League Kitakami Competition will be held in Kitakami City, Iwate Prefecture from July 18 to 19.
