Participants will learn basics about discussion in English in the first lesson. From the second session onwards, a different topic will be taken up for discussion. Participants are required to read materials before coming to each session. | - Introductory Course - Introduction to C Programming Using Animation Associate Professor Hirokuni Kurokawa [May] |
"C language" is very helpful to understand essentials of computers and software. Participants will have hands-on practice on programming by C language, using visualization methods of software which display movements of C programming (data processing) just like animations on a monitor. Participants will be able to learn programming as easily as making games. Illustrated programming process will help users more firmly understand difficult processing, e.g. movements of pointers.Participation by programming beginners is also encouraged, as they can check the actual process of programming by viewing graphics displayed on a monitor. |

Participants will start learning programming language(C/C++) from introductory steps. This workshop will help participants increase knowledge of programming language through hands-on practice on programming. What's important for those who is aiming to become a computer programmer who develops software and solves various problems are not only knowledge of programming languages but also understanding of basic algorithm and ability to apply them. This workshop will help participants to understand basic algorithms and data structures on a step-by-step basis while they solve problems prepared according to their levels (from introductory level to advanced level). | Handmade Audio Equipment - Amplifier - Associate Professor Junji Kitamichi [September (Three consecutive sessions)] |
This workshop is intended to understand basic knowledge on electronic circuit such as resistor, capacitor, and transistor, etc for the first step, and then to understand the movement of amplifier with circuit analysis technique by using circuit simulator which runs on workstation. Movement of amplifier will be checked by actually making one by one's own hand. |
| Let's make personal computers! Associate Professor Kazuyoshi Mori [September, December] |
Each participant will receive hands-on practice on assembling a personal computer using computer parts stored at the University. The assembling process will include installation of an operating system and operational checking, so that participants can broaden their knowledge about personal computers. |

By studying the system and process of government's policy formulation, students will learn about nature of local government in the future and citizen-led policy making system in a region. In specific, taking Fukushima Prefecture and some regional area for examples, explanations will be given on how to make an effective use of government policies and laws for region areas. |
