Main Research Theme
Research fields include digital/statistical signal processing, brain-style computation, and information theory. Research interests have been concentrated on blind source separation (BSS), independent component analysis (ICA), blind acoustic source separation, and statistical vital signal processing. Recently, he is also researching on brain-style information processing, neural code, and BSS, from a viewpoint of generalized information based on algorithmic, i.e., Kolmogorov, complexity. He is also interested in speech and image processing, quantum computation, quantum and information, and physics of information
