An Entrance to the World
An Entrance to the World
The international characteristics of our University are due not only to our international researchers, but also to a wealth of opportunities for students to play leading roles in the world.
Students are provided with opportunities to present their research achievements at international conferences made under istructions of their supervisors. Your ideas and efforts may draw the early attention of other researchers, even while you are still a student at our University.
In addition, the University hosts several international conferences every year.
The University of Aizu is also open to the world in terms of research activities.
Contest-based Learning
The University of Aizu emphasizes education of students to acquire practical knowledge by attending competitions and contests. Students are encouraged to participate in various kinds of competitions held both in and outside campus. ACM/ICPC (*1) is one of those contests. The University hosted one of its Asian regional preliminaries in 2004 and 2008. Our students give great performances at the contest every year. A team from the University advanced to its World Final in 2009 which was held at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, and finished in the tie for the 49th place out of 100 teams from around the world.
