Conclusion of Agreement with TCS Japan
The University of Aizu and Tata Consultancy Services Japan Limited agreed to cooperate in supporting Fukushima Prefecture's recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake Disaster, and concluded a basic framework agreement on the partnership on Monday, October 3, 2011.
The largest IT consulting firm in India, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), is known as a global company which has operations in 40 countries worldwide. The University of Aizu concluded the partnership agreement with the Japanese arm of TCS. The University of Aizu, characterized by a high rate of non-Japanese faculty members, about 40 % of all faculty members, and the world's most advanced IT education conducted in English, has concluded exchange agreements with around 50 overseas universities, etc., and is committed to the development of IT specialists who will take a leading role at international level.
From the perspectives of global marketing and training of IT specialists, both of which the University of Aizu and TCS Japan have in common, the agreement was reached focusing on the following three items.

- Cooperation in university-industry collaboration activities

- Financial support for students affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant Accident (scholarships)

- Collaboration in educational and research activities, including dispatch of lecturers for special lectures, etc.
At a press conference with Mr. Masahiko Kaji, the CEO of TCS Japan, President Tsunoyama said, "I hear that the University of Aizu is the first university in Japan to conclude an agreement with TCS Japan. This partnership agreement with TCS Japan having a global network is highly significant for the mission to revitalize Fukushima Prefecture starting from Aizu, and we will do our best to meet the prefectural citizens’ expectations."
